Finally made the trip last October with our 14 month old baby girl. What a delightful stay it was !
Brook at Khanna's is a home stay in Karjat. It takes about 2.5 hrs to reach from Mumbai.
We reached at around 1.15 p.m on Saturday & felt instantly refreshed with the welcome drink. We were drawn to how well the place was done up & the greenery that surrounded us.
The lunch that followed was delicious. Everything looked freshly made & had a homely feel to it.The good thing about Brook is that they sent us the menu in advance so we could intimate them of our choices. We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa. The villa is done up cosily with many artifacts from around the world. The ground floor is let out as a 2 bed villa & the house owners stay above it.
The Open verandah around our villa was the main highlight. It housed a variety of seating & dining arrangements as well.
After the lovely lunch followed by a siesta, we went for a stroll in the evening. A short pathway leads to the stream behind. We spent our evening by the brook & the hammocks. Little T had a great time watching the gurgling brook.
 
Dinner was some lovely barbecued starters followed by main course & dessert. Mr.Khanna, the owner joined us for a bit & regaled us with tales of how this place came to be.
The rooms do not have TV & the network is also not that great. This is mentioned while booking itself. With a place like this, one really doesn't miss technology. The detox was much needed & we really enjoyed it.
The next morning, we went towards the brook & dipped our feet for a bit. Little T enjoyed it too.A lovely start to the day with coffee by the brook. Picture perfect!
Once we got back to the room our breakfast was served in the verandah/ dining area. Fluffy hot pooris, alu sabzi, omlette, bread..Simple, wholesome & delicious .
Post breakfast it was snooze time for the little one. She slept till 1.30 p.m & not once did anyone come & hurry us about check out. I ran into the owner Mr Khanna & he said, ' Enjoy yourselves, stay as long as you like.' This is what truly separates Brook from resorts & makes it a home away from home. The staff is excellent! Always around but not in your face. They took care of Little T's food preferences too. There is a 4 Bedroom villa with a kitchen & pool table at the brook end of the property. One can book both the villas or separately.
Suitable for couples/families/group of friends, Brook at Khanna's is definitely a great answer to the most often asked query in any group
