#Desaru : Weekend getaway from Singapore

We had just applied for Malaysian visa & there popped a deal in my inbox.. 2days 1night stay at Lotus resort, Desaru... got the visa in two days..
..I do believe in signs as per convenience  :).. & so I booked the deal for that weekend..
Nothing to expect. . Just an impromptu plan to relax together..

Lotus Resort

We took a ferry from Changi village that saturday morning & reached Desaru in an hour. Ferry timings are available online. From the port the tour operator picked us up to take us to the fruit farm. As the deal included  a fruit farm tour. We played along.

The fruit farm is alright.. it has a small zoo too..  makes sense to visit the farm if you have young kids & want them to learn about nature. They sell raw honey & royal jelly at the farm. We picked up a bottle of raw honey which was damn nice.We had veg lunch arranged for us & proceeded to Lotus resort & spa.

Waterpark at Lotus Resort
Lotus is a huge property with 8 blocks of 6 storey each.. with a waterpark right in the middle . The rest of the property houses a spa, a clubhouse , restaurant &  a lounge overlooking the sea. Dont worry there are buggies to ferry you around.

The room was in duplex style with the kitchenette & entertainment console down & bed and bath upstairs. Pretty spacious.

the perfect setting

We relaxed a bit & booked ourselves to a spa appointment . An amazing fully body massage later we were completely rejuvenated . We went for a stroll along the beach & picked a nice spot ..wooden benches facing the huge expanse of water.

Books-check !!
Music-check !!
Sandwiches & juice- check !!
A View - check !!
Peace - Check !!

a faint glow as the sun fades

Lotus resort has castle like towers with flags waving ... it looked lovely as the sun set. The beach doesnt have a sunset view.. but it was very nice watching the day transform into night..
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant..

Good Morning !!
The next morning, we went for a walk along the beach... played at the clubhouse after check out & managed a foot massage too :)

Bye Desaru
A lazy weekend really well spent. . .
